About Proctoring

What is proctoring?

Proctoring involves the monitoring of certain tests you complete in your application, using your device’s camera. This enhances the fairness of our assessment process, ensuring that all candidates are evaluated equally by safeguarding against others gaining an undue advantage from dishonest behavior.

To ensure transparency and privacy, you will be shown exactly what is being recorded before the proctored tests begin. The camera light will also remain on during the recording.

Can I request an accommodation for a proctored assessment?

There may be reasons (such as disability, cultural, or religious reasons) that might make features of proctoring inaccessible. Please contact your employer regarding alternative arrangements.

What happens to my recordings and who can review it?

The Criteria application is designed with strict privacy compliance and security measures to protect both candidates and the companies. Your recordings can only be reviewed by the selected hiring team at the organization. Your privacy is very important to us and if you would like to find out more, please read our privacy policy

What are the technical requirements needed for proctoring?

We've worked hard to make the proctoring environment as accommodating as possible. Your proctored application can be completed on a desktop, laptop as well as on a mobile device or tablet. You just need a functioning camera and a stable internet connection.

Most laptops these days have built-in webcams which you may or may not even be aware of. If you have never used the webcam facility, the Criteria proctoring system automatically detects whether a webcam is connected to a computer and enables the user to check video quality. It’s a very easy process and doesn't require technical skill!
